Hey out there! No, I haven’t forgotten about you dedicated blog readers…I’ve just been getting my hustle on. So the question for today is – Are You Average? Average can be defined as being mediocre, doing just enough to get by or settling for less- not wanting or desiring to go further. I could go on and on with what average means. For the past few weeks my pastor has been preaching on this whole theme of  not being average. His message has definitely resonated throughout the congregation because everywhere you go—you can hear members saying, “I’m not average.” It’s like some kind of call to greatness that everyone is shouting out.  So his messages over these past few weeks inspired me to ask you all…are you average?

If you don’t know how to answer this question let me help you out.  No, I (Kimberly Kisner) am not average. Why? because I’m trying to take every aspect of my life to the next level and I will go above and beyond to make it happen. Currently, I am working with 3 multiple streams of income. No..I’m not rich….yet! The average person would be ok with just one stream and the average person would be ok with just working at their 9-5 job. The average person would be ok with not working towards their goals and desires that they have for themselves.  The average person is ok with just coming home after work and sitting on the couch watching t.v. eating dinner and then going to sleep…all to just do the same thing over and over again…expecting a different result. But guess what? the same result is going to occur- NOTHING!!! NOTHING is going to change for you.  I’m not average because while I may work during the day, I also am working on my book project and my coffee business. I’m not satisfied with going to work at my day job and then coming home at night to be a couch potatoe and then go to sleep and do it all over again in the morning.  So I’m not average!

I’m not average because I want to take my workout/fitness weight loss to the next level. So what am I doing? – I’m getting up at 6 a.m. and going to a trainer 2 days out of the week and the rest of the week I’m doing cardio at the gym – I’ve also modified my diet and have removed myself from situations where I know I will be tempted by sweets and alcohol – I’m not average! The average person may say they want to be more fit or want to lose weight- but they only work out once during the week, and perhaps they keep eating sweets and drinking alcohol or fried foods and potato chips. But hey not me! I’m not average- I’m doing whatever it takes to go above and beyond to get the results that I want.

I’m not average! because I want to take my prayer life and have a more intimate relationship with God. Going to church and sitting on the pew every Sunday is not going to get it – that’s being average! And because I’m not average I enrolled in bible class that I attend every Sunday and I’m reading my bible and studying every day so that I can build a more closer, intimate relationship with God. I’m not average!!!

Listen-being average is ok for some people, but it’s not ok with me. If you are average then you are putting yourself in a box and most likely you have surrounded yourself with other average people.  Why do that to yourself? Are you afraid of what your average friends or family members are going to say to you or about you? PLEASE!!!!  Everyone has an opinion but you don’t have to listen to it. You have to follow your heart-that internal gut that is pulling on you to get out of that box. You need to surround yourself with above average people.  You know that old saying – “Misery loves company” – well that is so true.  If you don’t want to be above average and take “it” (whatever it is ) to the next level you’ve got to get out of that box and become a person of excellence and go above and beyond what is average. You are better than that – if you don’t want an average lifestyle and I’m not just talking about financially….then stop being average!!! Go above and beyond. You have it in you.
